About TEC Internship Program

Through an internship programme, TEC aims to draw young people from the ICT disciplines in order to study, formulate, operationalize, and review various activities, projects, policies, etc. Young talent will be able to collaborate with TEC work through the internship programme for mutual benefit. It will allow TEC to communicate with young academics and obtain innovative ideas and study/research support from the academic telecom sector of the Government of India. Young scholars will get the chance to participate in the TEC work and gain knowledge of the relevant technical work at the same time.

Eligibility Criteria for TEC Internship

• Indian students from recognized universities in India or abroad, studying in 3rd/ 4th year (Final or pre-final year) in Bachelor Degree course in Electronics/
  Communications/ Telecommunication/ Radio/ Information Technology/ Computers / Electrical Engineering or related discipline and secured minimum 60% marks.
  or
• who have completed Bachelor Degree course in Electronics/ Communications/ Telecommunication/ Radio/ Information Technology/ Computers/ Electrical
  Engineering or related discipline course in last one year with minimum 60% marks.
  or
• who have completed Post Graduate/ Master Degree course in Electronics/ Communications/ Telecommunication/ Radio/ Information Technology/ Computers/ Electrical Engineering or related discipline course in last one year with minimum 60% marks

Selection Process for TEC Internship

• After the preliminary scrutiny regarding eligibility, the applications of shortlisted candidates will be placed before the selection committee. Selection Committee will be constituted with the approval of Head of TEC consisting of three DDsG/ Directors.
• The selection committee may conduct personal or telephonic interview, if required. No TA / DA shall be paid to candidates for attending the personal interview.

The Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC), a technical division of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), is in charge of developing the technical rules and guidelines for the communications industry. In the telecom industry and areas related to or incidental to it, TEC works to promote and ensure standardisation. It also offers technical and policy insights to DoT, TDSAT, TRAI, C-DoT, and other organisations. In India’s telecom industry, TEC also serves as a Designating Authority (DA) for Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) and Certification Bodies (CBs).
