Job Description | Junior Engineer

GBS Engineering’s Junior Engineer will be in Chennai. This is a message for the Quality Assurance Team. The incumbent is in charge of conducting supplier validation audits, as well as providing supplier support and advanced product quality planning (APQP).

Here is a glimpse of what you will do

• Conduct supplier validation audits with support from suppliers and advanced product quality planning from suppliers (APQP).
• Assess manufacturing/technology capabilities as well as Health, Safety, and Environmental hazards to lead the supplier approval process.
• Follow up with suppliers to determine the core cause of supplier quality issues and take corrective action.
• Work with the Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to create process parameters and criteria to guarantee the supplier’s ability to meet product and process requirements is effective.
• Support the launch of new products to guarantee that the quality of the suppliers meets the needed criteria.
• Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of supplier quality improvement initiatives.
• Document inspection results in a concise, complete, and accurate manner for the area of responsibility.
• Supporting inspection and test status criteria set by laws, engineering product specifications or Control Plans, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) approval, or product warrant submittal are examples of inappropriate functional domains.
• Examine the manufacturing methods of your suppliers. Collaborate with suppliers on opportunities for process improvement and value addition.
• Encourage customers to adopt customer-favored continuous improvement approaches including Lean, Six Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis, and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
• Assist in the escalation of unresolved supplier quality issues among assigned projects and vendors.
• Assist the Quality Manager in monitoring and reporting on the quality and performance of supplier products.
• Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure that processes are followed and that no non-conformities with the product, process, or system occur.
• First Article Inspection Preparation and Validation
• Participate in cross-functional teams to develop new goods or make improvements to existing ones in order to meet client needs.
• For Supplier Quality concerns, manage and organize supplier Material/Non-Material cost recovery.
• Assist in preparing for internal and external audits.
• As needed, take on special initiatives.
• Participate in activities that promote ongoing improvement.
• Keep up to speed on any changes that may have an impact on the availability and demand of necessary items and materials, and inform others about them.
• Work is subjected to quality control through suitable reviews.
• Write reports and show progress to clients and at project meetings.
• Conduct benchmarking research to discover best practices/designs and future treasury strategies.
