GenC – Generation Cognizant (Entry level)
Cognizant believes in hiring passionate individuals who have the zeal to excel and go beyond boundaries to make a difference with their digital competence. Our hiring process recognizes how the candidates come with varied exposure to IT. We offer them options based on their interest and IT prowess. The hiring channels are spread across 3 different routes: GenC, GenC Elevate, GenC Pro. All roles require students to go through either an aptitude or technical assessments, communication assessments along with technical / SME interviews.
GenC Elevate – Programmer Analyst Trainee (PAT)
Candidates with a 4-year graduation in B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech/MCA/M.Sc (CS & IT) students from 2023 batch (CSE, ECE, EEE, IT, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Information Science Engineering and allied branches only), who have foundational knowledge in programming along with database skills are eligible to apply. Knowledge of programming is mandatory and they are deployed to business units after additional skilling . They are offered a package of 4 LPA + one-time skill based joining bonus.
GenC – Programmer Analyst Trainee (PAT)
Candidates with a 4-year graduation in 2023 batch of BE/B-Tech/ME/M-Tech/ MCA, MS Software Engineering (Five year integrated course degree), M.Sc (CS & IT) students only are eligible to apply. They should be agile learners with the ability to comprehend complex problems and deliver smart solutions. Knowledge of programming is recommended but not mandatory. Selected candidates will go through focused skilling on technology areas. They are offered a package of 4 LPA.
GenC Pro – Programmer Analyst Trainee (PAT) or Programmer Analyst (PA)
Candidates with a 4-year graduation in B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech who have expertise in enterprise platforms / products / specific technologies, such as Salesforce, PEGA, SAP, Cybersecurity, ServiceNow and more. Their skill proficiency allows them to accelerate their deployment to business projects when they join Cognizant. They are offered a package of 5.4 LPA + one-time skill premium.
GenC – Programmer Trainee (PT)
Candidates from any stream of 3-year graduation courses are eligible to apply. They should be agile learners, good in communication and with the right attitude. Knowledge of programming is recommended but not mandatory. Selected candidates will go through focused skilling on technology areas. They are offered a package of 2.52 LPA.

Online Coding Round:

  • Shortlisted engineers from the online quiz round will undergo an online coding challenge.
  • The coding challenge will be based on Algorithms, Data Structures, Object-Oriented Programming.
  • The participants will be required to code in JAVA only.
  • You’ll be notified via email regarding the details of the coding challenge.
  • This challenge will be open for 6 hours only and must be taken in one sitting.
  • The challenge duration will be 120 minutes.
  • Evaluation criteria would include but are not limited to, the test score, time taken to complete the challenge, quality of code, etc.

Interview Round:

  • Shortlisted candidates from the coding round will be interviewed by EPAM’s interview panel.
  • These interviews will be conducted online (Microsoft Teams).

What would you do? 

As an Associate Software Engineer you would largely be involved in:

  • Design, build, test, assemble, support and configure application using business requirements
  • Understand business drivers that will impact performance and deliver software to those expectations
  • Bake technology trends into solutions; Participate in the development of automation solutions, new functionality and technologies and integrate them in existing solutions

Test automation engineering

  • Creation of test designs, test processes, test cases and test data

  • Responsible for designing testing scenarios for usability testing
  • Prepare all reports related to software testing carried out
  • Analyze the results and then submit the observations to the development team

Eligibility Criteria:

  • All streams/branches of B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech, MCA, and M.Sc. (CSE, IT only) from 2022 year of pass outs with full-time education only (Part-time and distance educations are not considered)

o   Note: MBA /PGDBM candidates are not eligible to apply for this role

  • No active backlogs during application and/or during onboarding.
  • You should have completed your relevant degree (eligible for this job role), in the stipulated duration of the degree. Hence, there should be no gaps during the course of your degree.

o   Eg: You must complete your B.Tech in 4 years or M.Tech/MSc in 2 years

Other Criteria

  • Open school or distance education is allowed for 10th & 12th only
  • One Backlog is allowed at the time of the Assessment Stage
  • Candidates are expected to clear the backlogs along with the 6th semester.

Stipend Details

Period: (INR Per Month)

1st Year STIPEND: 15,000 + 488 (ESI) + Joining Bonus of 75k

2nd Year STIPEND: 17,000 + 533 (ESI)

3rd Year STIPEND: 19,000 + 618 (ESI)

Fourth Year: 23,000

Post the completion of the program, the designation will be Senior Project Engineer and compensation will range from INR 6,00,000 P.A onwards depending on performance.

Selection process

Every eligible candidate must go through an online assessment, the below details are appended for your reference.

Round 1 – Online Assessment

Online Assessment (80 minutes) comprising of 4 sections:

  • Verbal- 20 mins- 20 questions
  • Analytical-20 mins-20 questions
  • Quantitative – 20 Mins – 20 questions
  • Written Communication Test (20 mins)

Round 2 – Business discussion

 Service Agreement

On joining, candidates would be required to sign a service agreement for 60 months

After clearing the online assessment, candidates will have to go through a business discussion round.
