Job Description:
The Red Hat Information Retrieval team is looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join us in Pune, India. In this role, you will be able to make a positive impact on the documentation experience of Red Hat’s customers, partners, developers, and associates. You should be passionate about quality and performance in a wide variety of systems including documentation engineering, continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD), and orchestration. As an Associate Software Engineer, you’ll interact frequently with stakeholders, other engineers, and managers to gather requirements, pitch your solutions, and provide status updates on your engineering efforts.
Primary job responsibilities:
- Contribute value to Red Hat’s customers through the enhancement of both customer and internal systems
- Develop software that contributes to Red Hat’s modern documentation engineering platforms
- Serve as part of an agile and globally distributed product development team responsible for both customer-facing solutions and internally-integrated systems
- Design, implement, and extend both internal and external facing software
- Ensure ongoing quality of the application code bases through bug fixes, refactoring, and test automation
- Collaborate with other developers across multiple teams and technologies for cross-team projects

Required skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related engineering field
- 1+ year(s) of development experience with Python
- Expertise in working with Flask or a similar framework
- Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; good written presentation skills
- Experience dealing and negotiating with stakeholders
- Experience with software development and deployment with Red Hat Openshift Container Platform
- Familiarity with agile methodologies
- Passion for open source
- Familiarity and interest in or experience with CI and CD is a big plus
- Experience using Linux or other Unix-like operating system is a plus
