Responsibilities as a Summer Intern

• Development Teams: The responsibility for designing, creating, and maintaining the applications utilised by the Firm’s business units falls on our development teams. Meeting with clients to gather and evaluate requirements is part of a typical day’s work, as are decisions on system design, software evaluation, integration, and development, testing, and production deployment of applications. One of the many projects available to developers within our technical organisations is the development of high-performing, low-latency electronic trading systems across various asset classes, the provision of sophisticated risk management analytics and systems, and the evolution of complex workflows and life-cycle management capabilities across increasingly sophisticated products.

• Infrastructure Teams: To run our business, our infrastructure-focused teams are creating state-of-the-art solutions. Engineers provide the Firm’s networks, computing hardware, operating systems, and databases for trading applications, mobile applications, and other end-user applications. They also provide tools, programmes, and platforms. The group efficiently develops applications that cover the range of the Firm’s clients by working in small, adaptable teams. Some of the initiatives offered to infrastructure engineers in our businesses include building the Firm’s websites, overseeing the Windows infrastructure, and creating a client reporting delivery system.

Qualifications/ Skills Required for Morgan Stanley Summer Internship:

• You are a Bachelors or Masters student in your penultimate year of study.
• Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or other related technical majors preferred.
• You have experience with at least one programming language: e.g., Java, C++ or C#, database knowledge.
• You have operating system knowledge (Windows and Unix).
• Useful resume writing tips for freshers
• You have excellent problem-solving skills, experience in object-oriented development, good comprehension of data structures, algorithms and complexity theory, strong database and scripting skills.
• You have excellent problem-solving, communication, teamwork and analytical skills.
• You are fluent in English.
