FactSet is looking for outstanding Software Engineers to help design, develop, implement, and maintain a variety of financial applications, tools, and utilities. From design to implementation, a software engineer is often involved in all aspects of development. Software developers collaborate with other departments to guarantee that FactSet’s products and technology are responsive to the investment community’s changing needs. A strong understanding of Software Engineering principles and best practises is required of the ideal applicant. To overcome complicated technological obstacles and work independently, individuals must have a high level of inventiveness and a strong capacity for problem-solving. FactSet Software Engineers utilise a combination of the following while working on various projects:

• C++, C#, Java, and Go are examples of object-oriented languages.
• On a Windows or Linux platform, scripting languages such as Python, Perl, and others.
• Platform as a Service (PaaS) and cloud technologies such as Heroku, AWS, and Azure are examples of PaaS and cloud technologies.
• PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Oracle are examples of relational database technology.
• Redis, ES, and other NoSQL database technologies (Elasticsearch).
• AngularJS, VueJS, JavaScript libraries, and superscripts like jQuery, Bootstrap, ES6, Typescript, and others.
• Jenkins is an example of a continuous integration tool.
• Perforce and GIT are examples of source code repositories.
• Develop new applications/features and enhance existing applications • Maintain, fix bugs in existing applications, and deploy them to different environments • Work with the Product Development team to prioritise and resolve issues •
• Follow the team’s coding guidelines and engineering processes

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong understanding and hands-on experience of GIT.
• Strong understanding of RDBMS concepts.
• Good knowledge of Object-Oriented Design and Analysis principles

Job Responsibilities:

• Analysis, design, and coding are all responsibilities.
• Testing and quality assurance are my responsibilities.
• Developing and maintaining existing retail apps, such as adding modules, resolving issues, and so on.
• As needed, assist with the development of additional apps.
• Keeping track of projects from start to finish
• Participation in project and sprint planning

Required Skills:

• Mobile Technologies are something I’m passionate about.
• A working knowledge of the Android SDK or the iOS SDK (for iOS) is required. Understanding the iOS/Android development flow from beginning to end.
• Knowledge of REST/SOAP/JSON/XML web services
• SQLite knowledge is required.
• Practical experience with a high-level programming language such as C#, Java, C++, Objective C, or Swift.
  familiarity with the entire SDLC
• Source control knowledge VSS/TFS/SVN/Git
