Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP)

The Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP Test) is an yearly management entrance test conducted by the Symbiosis International University for admission to MBA post-graduation programs in the affiliated colleges under the University. SNAP is the first step in the process of admission after which the students are required to submit applications in individual colleges and clear personal interaction and Writing Ability Test (WAT).

Eligibility Criteria for SNAP

Candidate should be Graduate from any recognised University/ Institution of National Importance with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes. Note: Candidates appearing for Final year bachelor’s degree examinations may apply but their admission will be subject to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST).

SNAP Reservation Policy

As per the UGC Regulations/ Guidelines, the following will be the reservation policy for admission to any program of Institutes of SIU. Symbiosis Institutes of Management Studies has a separate policy so the candidates need to check them before applying for admission.

SNAP Registration Process

Candidates have to Register online on the website: http://www.snaptest.org/ . The candidates are required to fill in their Personal, Academic and Program details. Upload latest scanned coloured photo. Registration Fee is Rs 1500 which can be paid from last week of August 2019 till last week of November 2019. Online payment can be done through Credit Card and Net Banking. Payment can also be done through Cash. Payment is also available by Demand Draft where the DD has to be made in favour of “Symbiosis Test Secretariat” payable at Pune.

SNAP Test duration is of 120 minutes

SNAP Test is an objective test. Each question has 4 responses. Candidate should choose an appropriate response.

Application Fee

SNAP test fee is Rs.1500/- as per the instructions mentioned on the website of the University for Payment of Test fee.

ONLINE PAYMENT THROUGH CREDIT CARD:

The candidate may pay directly through Master or Visa card online by following the instructions on the SNAP website after the registration.

ONLINE PAYMENT THROUGH NET BANKING:

The candidate may transfer SNAP test fee to Symbiosis Test Secretariat account using Net Banking option after the registration.

PAYMENT THROUGH CASH:

After online SNAP 2020 registration print ‘Axis Bank or Indian Bank Challan’ from the SNAP website. It is in 3 parts. Pay Rs. 1500/- in cash at any Axis Bank or Indian Bank branch in your city. Refer to the list of branches on the website. The bank will return two stamped parts of the ‘Axis Bank or Indian Bank Challan’ to the candidate. Candidates need to keep the Candidate copy as payment receipt. Sign the stamped ‘Symbiosis
copy’ of the ‘Axis Bank or Indian Bank Challan’ and send it to the Symbiosis Test Secretariat at the address given in this page.

PAYMENT THROUGH DEMAND DRAFT:

Obtain a Demand Draft (DD) of Rs. 1500/- from any Nationalized Bank in favour of “Symbiosis Test Secretariat” payable at Pune. Fill DD details in the DD payment option in SNAP website and take a print out of ‘Payment Advice’ form for DD and send it along with the DD to the Symbiosis Test Secretariat only at the following Address. The photocopy of the Demand Draft should be retained for future reference.

SNAP Question Papers

SNAP Admit Card

Candidates have to print SNAP 2020 Admit Card from the website: http://www.snaptest.org/ which will be available from 1st week of December 2020. Admit Card along with Photo Identity proof should be carried to the Test Centre at the time of the test.
An acceptable photo identity is any one of the following:
• Passport.
• Driving license.
• College/ Institute Identity Card.
• Credit card with photograph.
• Voter ID Card.
• Pan Card
• AADHAR Card (UID)

Note: Candidates have to note that an authenticated Admit Card is an important document without which the candidate will not be permitted to appear for further selection processes of SIU. If the Admit card is lost, a duplicate Admit Card will not be issued. It should be retained by the candidate till the admission process is over.

SNAP Result

The result of SNAP 2020 Test is expected to be released in January 2020. The result will be available online on the official website of the exam: http://www.snaptest.org/ . The result shows the score obtained by the candidates. The students can use this score for seeking admission to all MBA institutes of Symbiosis International University for the academic year of 2019-20 only.

Xavier Admission Test (XAT) is a national level entrance exam, for admission into the postgraduate management programmes at Xavier Institutes, conducted by Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur. XLRI conducts the test on behalf of the XAMI. XAT is one of the oldest competitive examinations in India. XAT’s testing framework is designed to meaningfully check the aptitude of candidates for the future success of business. The test scores obtained from the XAT Exam is being used by more than 100 institutes for the admission. Eligibility Criteria

The XAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria

  • Students who have completed three years of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline, recognised by a University or Deemed University.
  • Those completing their final examination bY 10 June 2021 may also apply.
  • NRI and Foreign candidates can also apply for XAT exam through valid GMAT score card (excluding Kathmandu and Dubai students).

Fee Details:

  • XAT Registration Fee (without late Fee) – Rs.1700/- Candidates interested in XLRI programs needs to pay an additional fee of Rs.300/- each.
  • XAT Registration Fee (with late Fee) – Rs.2000/- Candidates interested in XLRI programmes needs to pay an additional fee of Rs.500/- each

How to apply for XAT 2020

Students have to register for XAT and XLRI 2020 at www.xatonline.net.in. You may also apply for institutions using XAT 2020 score for admission to their programmes. Applicants for XAT 2020 can choose to pay online using credit card/ debit card/ online banking. Applicants can also make payment through a demand draft made from any bank (in favour of XLRI Jamshedpur A/C XAT). Third alternative for making payment can be “cash”. This can be done from any of the IDBI Bank branches located in India to make payment for XAT 2020.
Candidates only interested in XAT but not in XLRI need to pay a fee of Rs.. Candidates interested in XLRI programme(s) needs to pay an additional fee of Rs.300/-500/- each.

  • The XAT Exam will be conducted in pen and paper mode.
  • There will be two papers involved in the exam i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2.
  • Paper 1 will contain 78 questions from Verbal and Logical Ability (23 questions), Decision Making (26 questions) and Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation (29 questions).
  • Paper 2 will contain 25 questions from General Awareness and there will be one topic from essay writing.
  • Candidates will be given 170 minutes for paper 1 exam whereas 35 minutes for paper 2.
  • Candidates can leave only 13 questions unattempted and once the limit is over, 0.05 marks will be deducted for every unattempted questions.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum eligibility criteria for candidates applying for UG Programmes is 12th standard. Candidates applying for PG Programs should have completed their degree from any approved college. Detailed criteria is given below.

– Candidates should have completed the 12th standard with a minimum percentage of 45%
– They should have studied Maths and Physics as Mandatory and Chemistry / Computer Science as optional
– Candidates applying for BBA course should have studied English as a mandatory subject
– 5 % relaxation will be given to reserved category candidates.
– Aspirants should have completed 17 years at the time of admission (ideally before the month of June 2020)

Eligibility Criteria for PG Program

– Candidates should have completed their bachelor’s degree from any reputed college
– Candidates should have scored a minimum of 50 % aggregate marks in their bachelors.

Cut off

NAT cut off will be determined on basis of various factors. The university will release the cut off details after the conduction of exam and the cut off varies every year. Candidates will be selected on the basis of the cut off released, depending on which a merit list will be generated. The merit list will be used for the counselling and admission process. Various factors are considered for the determination of cut off marks.

The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). CMAT is an entrance exam for taking admission to management programs offered at the AICTE approved institutes across India. The AICTE-CMAT is held twice a year for helping institutions to select suitable students for admission.

Eligibility Criteria for AICTE – CMAT:

NOTE: The eligibility criteria for admission to management programs (Diploma and Post Graduation) is as mentioned below: –

  • Management (PGCM): Recognized bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration.

CMAT Admit Card

All the registered candidates will be issued the admit card. In first week of January 2021, CMAT Admit Card will be released. It will be available online on the official website of AICTE-CMAT: http://www.aicte-cmat.in/ for the candidates to download. The admit card will also be sent to the registered email address provided by the candidates at the time of Registration, but it won’t be sent via post. The candidates must carry their admit card to their respective test center on the date of the examination for entry into the hall. No candidate will be allowed entry into the exam center if he fails to furnish a valid CMAT Admit Card 2020.

CMAT Result

The result for CMAT 2020 will be announced along with the release merit list in third week of January 2021. It will be declared online and will be published on the official website of CMAT: http://aicte-cmat.in/ . For checking the result and downloading the scorecard, the candidates have to login to their account using their respective login details. The scorecard will furnish the total and sectional score, total and sectional percentile and all India rank.

CAT (Common Admission Test) is the premier all India level management entrance exam conducted by IIMs (Indian Institute of Management). CAT Entrance exam shortlist applicants for admission in 19 IIM’s located at Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Bodh Gaya, Calcutta, Indore, Kashipur, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Nagpur, Raipur, Ranchi, Rohtak, Sambalpur, Shillong, Sirmaur, Tiruchirappalli, Udaipur and Visakhapatnam. Common Admission Test (CAT) is one of the competitive entrance examinations for pursuing postgraduate programmes in Business Administration.

CAT is the largest MBA entrance test conducted annually in India. The CAT score is also accepted by many Non – IIM institutes for admission. CAT is a computer based test held in India. The test scores a candidate on the basis of Quantitative Ability (QA),Verbal Ability (VA) and Reading Comprehension (RC), Data Interpretation (DI) and Logical Reasoning (LR). The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) started this exam. It is the gateway for admission to 19 Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) and various B-schools located across the country. This national level examination is conducted by the IIMs on the rotation basis.

Eligibility

The Eligibility Criteria required by candidates appearing for the CAT examination are as follows:

  • The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PWD)/Differently Abled (DA) category)
  • Candidates who are appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply.
  • IIMs may verify eligibility at various stages of the selection process so candidates are requested to fill in the correct details.

Reservations

Candidates claiming reservations must fulfill the following requirements:

  • 15% of the seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates. 27% of seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes candidates belonging to the “non – creamy” layer (NC – OBC).
  • 3% seats are reserved for Differently Abled (DA) candidates. The three categories of disability are: a) low vision blindness, b) hearing impairment and c) locomotor disability/cerebral palsy.

How to Apply?

  • Students have to Register on the website: http://www.iimcat.ac.in/
  • Enter the required details: Name of Candidate, Date of Birth, Email Address, Mobile Number. Your User ID and password is generated.
  • Login to the official website of CAT. Fill Personal Details and Communication Address.
  • Students have to upload following documents: Passport Size Photograph and Signature, NC-OBC/SC/ST Certificate, PWD/DA Certificate.
  • Fill Academic details: SSC/10th Std/Equivalent Details, 12th/Equivalent/Diploma Course Details, Bachelor Degree Details, Other Professional Degree Details, Master Degree Details.
  • Students having work Experience can enter their details in Work Experience section
  • Select Programme Names and interview city
  • Select Exam centre City preference. Candidates can select upto 4 choices
  • Payment can be done by Net Banking, Credit Card (Visa / Master), Credit Card (American Express), Debit Card (Visa / Master).
  • After payment is done you will receive application confirmation Email
  • Students can log into the CAT website and see Application Summary and Download Application form

CAT Test Duration & Pattern

CAT covers questions in three areas – Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VRC, 34 questions), Quantitative Quantitative Ability (QA, 34 questions) & Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR, 32 questions).

The duration of the exam is 180 minutes. There is no separate time limit on sections.

  • Each candidate will get 3 points for every correct answer.
  • Also, 1 point will be deducted for each wrong answer marked by the candidate.
  • There is no penalty for questions that will be left unanswered/unmarked by the candidate.
  • Candidates will be allowed to use a basic online calculator for doing calculations.
  • Entrance Test will have both, objective type questions and a few descriptive questions in each section.

Syllabus

There is no prescribed syllabus for CAT but seeing the question pattern a detailed syllabus has been mentioned below:

The Quantitative Aptitude section consists of fundamental mathematics, based on 10 + 2 difficulty level. Problems come from varied topics like Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry and Commercial Mathematics (Word Problems).

The Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning section consists of questions on the given data. The data given can be in the form of graphs, charts, tables and paragraphs. Data Interpretation problems tests the understanding of a candidate of the data and the ability to solve problems accurately. Logical Reasoning questions consists of logic based questions to check candidates presence of mind and and evaluate problems.

The Verbal Ability section consists of questions on comprehension and usage of standard English grammar. Verbal Logic questions checks the candidate’s knowledge of arranging paragraphs in a logical order, determining the type of statements, completing the paragraphs in a proper way.

Result

Candidates can expect CAT 2021 result in the month of December/January. They have to keep themselves updated by checking the CAT website.

CAT Score Card

Scorecard of candidates will be available at the official website of CAT: www.iimcat.ac.in and candidates will be made aware regarding the same. The Scorecard will be possibly available at its official website in the month of January 2022.
