Job Description:
We have an opportunity for two Associate Civil Engineers to support our Roads & Highways (R&H) team. The Associate Civil Engineer reports to the Section Leader – R&H via a R&H Team Leader. You will provide consistent leadership and role modelling of Jacobs’ core values, fostering an inclusive and diverse culture across the PU that embodies Jacobs’ Culture of Caring and prioritises the health and wellbeing of people. You will set clear direction regarding client focus and responsiveness and will help to ensure we can identify and anticipate client needs. The purpose of this role is to provide civil engineering, design management, project management and construction support excellence and leadership skills to the Eastern Transport Performance Unit, in particular the R&H. Functions include:
Job Responsibilities:
- Design Management and Project Management on a range of small and medium transport projects, including direct commissions
- To interface with clients, subconsultants, GID and other remote resources, contractors, and other stakeholders. To promote the integration of GID for the effective delivery of Jacobs’ projects
- Delivery of projects to meet the needs of the business with regards to time, cost, quality and HSE targets. To manage Jacobs’ risk and exposure as part of this process
- Overseeing the production of civil engineering design deliverables & report preparation and ensuring the quality of these deliverables to meet functional and statutory requirements as well as satisfy client briefs and expectations
- Perform the Area Lead /Civil Lead role on a range of transport projects, including major Transport Design & Construct and Alliance projects
- Support to DM and PMs on major, large scale D&C transport projects
- Lead people by building effective project teams (multi-disciplinary where applicable) as well as mentoring and developing talent within those teams
- Support for proposals & tenders, including preparation of scope and pricing, and coordination of subcontractor scope
- Direct responsibility for the preparation of proposals for small and medium projects in collaboration with the Sales team
- Providing mentoring to graduates and junior engineers, supporting them in their path to engineering chartership
- Use and develop client relationships to promote Jacobs’ brand and capability across a range of client organisations including Government, Operators and Contractors
