In the next phase of the reform process, the transmission and distribution business managed by KPTCL was unbundled in June 2002. Four new distribution companies were formed to distribute power in Karnataka.

Eligibility Criteria:
Graduate Apprentices:
- Candidates must possess BE/ B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University/ Institute
- Candidates who acquired the qualification on or after October 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 are only eligible to apply
- Candidates should know the reading and writing of the Kannada language
- Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training are not eligible to apply.
Diploma Apprentices:
- Candidates must possess Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University/ Institute
- Candidates who acquired the qualification on or after October 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 are only eligible to apply
- Candidates should know the reading and writing of the Kannada language
- Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training are not eligible to apply.
Age limit: Candidates’ age should not be less than 18 years as per apprenticeship rules.
Selection Process:
Candidates will be selected for the posts of Graduate, and Diploma Apprentices based on their performance in academics. Shortlisted candidates will be called for certificate verification.
