Joint Entrance Examination for Polytechnics West Bengal (JEXPO)

Joint Entrance Examination for Polytechnics West Bengal invites applications for admissions to JEXPO for the academic year 2020.

JEXPO 2020 is a pen-paper-based entrance exam that will be conducted on April 26 for admission to various diploma courses offered by polytechnic institutes in the state of West Bengal, including engineering and technology. Around 19,000 seats will be offered through the exam, excluding management quota seats. The conducting body of the exam, also known as WB Polytechnic, is West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development. The application form of JEXPO 2020 has been released by West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development on January 2 and can be filled in both online and offline modes. However, the fee is different depending on which mode the candidate chooses. Also, there is a special fee concession for female candidates. The result of the entrance exam will be declared tentatively in the first week of June in the form of merit lists.

JEXPO 2020 Eligibility Criteria:

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:

The official authorities have released the application form of JEXPO 2020 on January 2 in both online and offline mode. To fill the application form online, the candidates simply have to go the online application portal and start the application process right away. However, to apply offline, using OMR-based application forms, the candidate had to first obtain it on cash payment of Rs. 500 (female candidates need to pay only Rs. 250). The application process for both the modes is described in brief below.

Procedure to fill Online Application form of JEXPO 2020

  • Registration – One requires a valid email id and mobile number to register.
  • Filling of application form – In this step, the candidate have to fill different sections of the application form, like personal, academic and contact details.
  • Uploading of documents – When uploading scanned images of photograph and signature, care has to be taken that they are in the prescribed format.
  • Payment of application: The application fee for male candidates applying through online mode is Rs. 450; fee for female candidates is Rs. 250.
  • Submission of application form: Just check that the application form is complete in all respects before submitting it.

Filling of JEXPO application form – Offline mode

To apply using printed OMR Application Form, the candidate had to first obtain it along with the information booklet from:

  • Designated Polytechnics and ITIs on cash payment of Rs. 500 (female candidate need to Rs. 250 only).

The candidate had to duly fill the printed application form – including filling all relevant sections, pasting photograph and signature at the appropriate space – and submit it before the last date. Applications received after the last date will not be considered.

Syllabus

Syllabus for JEXPO 2020 consists of 2 test papers and each test paper has weightage on the basis of marks. Equal marks are allotted to each question. Standard of contents of syllabus will be as per class 10. Syllabus for JEXPO 2020 entrance exam as is as follows:

    • Mathematics:

Co-ordinate Geometry – Distance Formula, Graph, Profit & Loss, Linear Simultaneous Equations, Statistics, Properties of Parallelogram, Rectangular Parallelepiped or Cuboids, Factorization, Transversal & Mid-Point Theorem, Laws of Indices, Real Numbers, Theorems on Area, Ratio and Proportion, Rectangular Parallelepiped or Cuboids, Compound Interest, Theorems related to circle etc.

    • Physical Science:

Atomic Structure, Force & Motion, Sound, Work, Power & Energy, Measurement, Mole Concept, Periodic Table, Matter- Structure and Properties, Current electricity, Solution, Acids, Sound, Bases & Salts, Water, Separation of Components of Mixtures etc.

Exam Pattern

The medium of the question paper will be English only.

The question paper of JEXPO 2020 will consist of 120 objective type questions with 5 choices for every question. The total duration of 2 hours will be provided to answer the questions.

    • It is an offline Pen Paper Based Test, duration of which is 02 hours.
    • JEXPO 2020 comprises two (02) test papers, which have 200 multiple-choice questions.
    • Maximum marks are 200 and each correct answer earns one (1) mark. Negative marking scheme is not applicable in JEXPO 2020.
    • The test papers will be based on 03 subjects. Each Paper has distinct numbers of questions and weightage.

Admit Card / Hall Ticket

The admit card will be avilable online for download. The candidate can download and print it. The hard copy of BITSAT admit card will also be sent through post. The candidate should verify all the information in the admit card. If any issue is found, then get it corrected with the concerned authority.

The candidates are required to carry the admit card to the examination hall. Without it, you will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. It is also very important to document for the further admission processes.

JEXPO 2020 Cutoff

The JEXPO 2020 Cutoff is the minimum required score for qualifying the exam and getting shortlisted in the final merit list of the institute. Every year, the cutoff is released by the exam authorities to shortlist candidates for the next stage or round of the admission process.

After considering various factors, namely level of difficulty in JEXPO 2020 test, number of test takers, and number of seats, IBS Hyderabad and its other participating institutes will release (Exam Name) cutoff lists for the candidates.

The Cutoff for JEXPO 2020 will be released after the announcement of the result.

Results

The JEXPO 2020 result will be declared by the authority on June 2020. It will be announced on the official website. The candidates can check their result along with answer sheet by login using their application number and Password.

Selection Process

The successful candidates who have qualified the JEXPO 2020 score are called for the selection process at JEXPO in June 2020. The selection process comprises of Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

AP ECET (Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test) for admission into B.E./B.Tech./B.Pharm regular Courses offered by State Universities and Professional Colleges under the Jurisdiction of A.P State Council of Higher Education for the academic year. Eligibility Criteria

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:
=> They should belong to the State of Andhra Pradesh. The candidates should satisfy local/non-local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended.

=> They should have obtained a Diploma in Engineering and Technology/ Pharmacy from the State Board of Technical Education of Andhra Pradesh State or any other Diploma recognised by the Government of Andhra Pradesh as equivalent thereto for admission into the relevant B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Pharmacy courses into the Courses corresponding to the Diplomas as given in the following Annexure.
=> Candidates who are pursuing a Diploma course shall be eligible for entry into the relevant B.E./B.Tech./B. Pharmacy courses provided they have completed the practical training prescribed for the award of diploma course before admission into the college.

=> Candidates should have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology/ Pharmacy/ B.Sc Degree as the case may be with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) for entry into relevant courses.

ELIGIBILITY FOR LATERAL ENTRY ADMISSION INTO B.E./B.Tech./B.Pharm
=> Candidates should have appeared and qualified at the APECET-2015. Mere appearance at the Entrance Test does not automatically entitle a candidate to be considered for entry into any course unless the candidate satisfies the requirement of eligibility and other criteria laid down in the rules of admission.

=> Admission to 85% of the seats in each course shall be reserved for the local candidates and the remaining 15% of the seats shall be un-reserved seats as specified in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations and Admissions) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended.

=> The lateral entry seats in case of Un-Aided Private Professional institutions (Minority & non-Minority)are 20% over and above the sanctioned intake into the course. In case of University Colleges the lateral entry seats are 10% over and above the sanctioned intake into the course.

Mere qualification in the entrance test does not entitle a candidate to find admission into MBA/MCA course unless the candidate:
i) Appears for Counseling at the notified Centers
ii) Applies in response to the admission notification issued by the authority concerned (for part- time\evening\distance mode)
iii) Satisfies all the eligibility criteria for admission as stipulated by the authority concerned

Eligibility Criteria

  • Indian citizens below 21 years are allowed to apply for MP PET 2020. A relaxation up to 5 years is given for those applying against SC/ST/PwD Quotas.
  • The applicants must have cleared his/her 12th grade with 55%. However, those applying against the abovementioned quotas can have achieved 50%. The 10+2 Examination must have been completed from any recognized Board in India. The subjects studied must have been Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Rajasthan Pre-Engineering Test (RPET) is the state-level entrance examination being conducted for admission to first year of undergraduate programs leading to a bachelor’s degree in different disciplines of engineering (B.Tech. and B.E.) in various government-aided and private unaided technical institutions of Rajasthan (except BITS Pilani, MNIT Jaipur and other deemed private universities). Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who are fulfilling the following eligibility criteria are eligible for the RPET 2020 examination:

  • Aspirant must be the domicile bearer of Rajasthan. He/she must have a valid domicile of Rajasthan as a proof of his/her residence.
  • Coming to the age criteria, the GEN/OBC candidates must possess age on or after 1 October, 1992 while the candidates of reserved category (SC/ST) should have the age on or after October 1, 1987.
  • The candidates must have passed 12th or its equivalent examination from the recognized board with an aggregate percentage of 45%. For reserved category, 40% will also be acceptable.

  • Visit the official website at-http://techedu.rajasthan.gov.in/
  • Click on ‘RPET 2020 Application Form’ link.
  • Select the appropriate link and fill the online application form.
  • Upload documents if required.
  • Pay examination fee as mentioned above.
  • Click on submit button.
  • Take print out of your application form.
  • The completed application form should be sent through Registered post/Speed post to the below mentioned address.

Enclose the following documents with application form:

  • Class X Certificate and Mark-sheet
  • Class XII Mark-sheet
  • Category Certificate
  • Domicile certificate

Exam Pattern
