University of Mysore Post Graduate Entrance Examination (UOM PGEE)

University of Mysore Post Graduate Entrance Examination (UOM PGEE) Compulsory for all Post Graduate Degree courses for all candidates except for Foreign Nationals with Foreign Degree. Candidates have to apply and appear for entrance exam separately for separate courses, except M.B.A., M.C.A., M.Tech (CCT) and M.Tech (CST) for which candidates have to contact Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). Details on Entrance Examination and also on the procedure of admission are an available website.

University of Mysore (UOM) has invites applications online, through its online admissions portal from eligible candidates for various Post Graduate programmes in Arts, Commerce, Law, Education and Science. The University will select students through a written test, UOM will centrally process PG admissions for PG programs through this online portal for its four campuses at Manasagangothri, Mandya, Hassan and Chamarajanagar and for PG programs of affiliated colleges. The application fee can now be paid online. The application for PG entrance examination can also be submitted online through the PG Admissions Portal.

Entrance Examination will be conducted for admission to all P.G.Programms. Admission shall be made on the basis of the merit list prepared by taking into consideration 50% of the aggregate marks obtained in the relevant subjects at qualifying Degree Examination (all three years), and 50% of marks obtained in the Entrance Examination.

How to Apply

– Mysore University PG Application Form 2017 for Entrance Exam is available on the official website of University of Mysore (UoM).

– Candidates applying for the Various PG courses in Arts, Science & Technology, Commerce & Management, Education and Law at University of Mysore (UoM) are required to apply for the Post Graduate Entrance Examination through the UoM website at www.uni-mysore.ac.in. No other Means/Mode of application will be accepted.

– A valid E-mail and Mobile Number is mandatory for the registration of your Online Application. This E-Mail and Mobile number should be kept active till the declaration of results. UoM will send important information and communication with regard to your application and examination on this registered E-Mail/ Mobile number, only.

How to fill Registration Form

– Please enter your Name exactly as it appears in your 10th Std Marksheet.

– Please note that after the final submission all the particulars mentioned in the online application including Name of the Candidate, Courses/Subject(s) Applied, Category, Date of Birth, Address, Email ID etc. will be considered as Final and NO further modifications will be allowed/entertained.

– After successful registration, you will receive your unique PGEE ID and Password on your registered Email and/or Mobile Number which should be used by you to complete your Online Application. Subsequent to receipt of your PGEE ID and Password, you will not be able to edit the Name, Email Id and Mobile Number in the Online Application. Candidates are hence requested to fill in the online application form with the utmost care as no correspondence regarding change of details will be entertained.

Step 1: Candidates are first required to go to the UoM website http://www.uni-mysore.ac.in/ and click on the link “Online Application for Post Graduate Entrance Examination ”

Step 2: You will be directed to the “Main Page” of the Post Graduate Entrance Examination. Make a note of the Important Dates and Eligibility Criteria.

Step 3: If you are a first-time user, you will have to first register by clicking on the link provided for the Registration. Complete your Registration by filling in your Name, Email id and Mobile number, correctly. On successful Registration, you will receive your PGEE ID and Password on your registered Email and/or on your Mobile No.

Step 4: If you have received your PGEE ID and Password, then Login from the “Main Page” of the Post Graduate Entrance Examination – 2017 by using the PGEE ID and Password received by you. After, logging in with your PGEE ID and Password, you can:

  • View the Online Application
  • Edit to Fill your Online Application (except some fields) by clicking on the “Edit” button
  • Upload the mandatory documents like scanned photograph, signature and disability certificate (if applicable).
  • Submit your Online Application

– Fill your (a) Personal Details (b) UG Degree details (c) Examination Details and (d) Declaration & Submission of the Online Application Form. You will also require uploading your recent photograph, signature and disability certificate (if applicable) as JPEG files.

Step 5: The payment of the corresponding fee shall also be ON-LINE / E-Payment only with SBI or SBM.

Step 6: After filling in all your mandatory details, click on “Preview Application” to view your filled application and verify the details entered by you.

This is also one last chance for you to edit the information in your application except you will not be able to edit your Name, Email and Mobile Number. Click on the “Submit” button to save all the details entered in your application.

Step 7: On the “Main Page” of “Post Graduate Entrance Examination – 2017”, log in using the PGEE ID and Password which you received on your E-Mail/Mobile and take a printout of your submitted application. Keep a copy of the submitted application for your reference and safe keep. You will need to carry this copy during counselling.

Application Fee

For every entrance examinationa candidate wishes to appear for, the Entrance Examination fee is Rs.350/ – per examination (for all category candidates)

Admit Card / Hall Ticket

The candidate should verify all the information in the admit card. If any issue is found, then get it corrected with the concerned authority.

Eligibility Criteria

– Applications are invited from students who expect to complete their M.Sc., Integrated M.Sc., B.Sc., or B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. degrees by July 2017 with 55% marks or more.

– Students in any branch of the B.E., B.Tech., M.E. or M.Tech. degrees, or in the Physics, Electronics, Astronomy or Applied Mathematics branches of the B.Sc. or M.Sc. degrees, are eligible to apply for INAT-2016.

– Students who have already completed any of the above degrees are also eligible.

– In addition, talented final-year B.Sc., 1st year M.Sc., 4th year Integrated M.Sc. and 2nd/3rd year B.E./B.Tech. students may also apply to be pre-selected for the Ph.D. programme at IUCAA.

– Students who complete their M.Sc./Integrated M.Sc./M.E./M.Tech. degrees by July 2017 will be eligible for selection to the Ph.D. programme of both IUCAA and NCRA-TIFR. Students who complete their B.E./B.Tech. degrees by July 2017 are eligible for selection to the Ph.D. programme at IUCAA and to the Integrated Ph.D. programme at NCRA-TIFR (except for Engineering Physics students, who will be eligible for selection to the Ph.D. programme at NCRA-TIFR). Students who complete their B.Sc. degrees by July 2017 will be eligible for selection to the Integrated Ph.D. programme at NCRA-TIFR and for pre-selection to the Ph.D. programme at IUCAA.

Selection Procedure

IUCAA is looking for highly motivated students with a consistently good academic record. While we strongly encourage students from engineering backgrounds to apply for INAT-2016, we emphasize that we are looking for students who are interested in carrying out doctoral research in Physics, or Astronomy and Astrophysics. We hence expect prospective candidates to have a good understanding of basic Physics.

How to Apply

There are TWO steps in the application procedure. Candidates must first register by entering their name and valid e-mail address in the appropriate registration boxes below.

– An application password will then be automatically sent to the candidates’ e-mail address; the e-mail address and the password must be entered in order to fill out the Online Application Form.

– The Application Form also requires the names and e-mail addresses of two referees. When the form is submitted, the candidate will receive an e-mail containing his/her Online ID, an account password, and confirmation that s/he has applied for INAT-2016. E-mails will also be automatically sent to the two referees, requesting them to fill and submit the online Confidential Assessment Form. The candidates should inform their referees about the Assessment Form.

– Note that each applicant must submit his/her Application Form before the referee fills the Assessment Form. Please e-mail The Co-ordinator at inat@iucaa.in in case of any problems with the online forms.

– Based on the applications and referee assessments, a subset of the candidates will be short-listed and invited to take the written test, to be held in Pune on Thursday, December 8, 2016.

Paper Pattern

The test will be of TWO hours duration. The question paper will have two parts, A and B.

– Part A will contain twenty objective-type questions on basic Mathematics, Physics and Electronics.

– Part B will contain another twenty objective-type questions from advanced Physics, Mathematics and Electronics/Engineering.

For each question, candidates will have to identify and mark the correct answer from the given four answers.

– For a correct answer, there will be +3 (plus three) marks, and for a wrong answer, there will be -1 (minus one) mark. Based on their performance in the written test, a limited number of candidates will be invited for two interviews, which will be conducted on December 8 and/or 9, 2016.

– The final selection will be based on the scores in the written test and interviews. Candidates selected by either IUCAA or NCRA-TIFR are expected to join in August 2017 (except for pre-selected candidates), after satisfactory completion of their qualifying examination.

      1. The Duration of the course leading to the degree of B.F.A shall be of four academic years.
      2. Admission to B.F.A. (Bachelor of Fine Art) Four year Degree course shall be made on the basis of the result of an Entrance Test. Provided that a Candidate for admission must have passed the Intermediate Examination of UP Board of Secondary Education, Allahabad or any other examination recognized by the University of Allahabad equivalent thereto, and is not of more than 22 years of age by June 30, 2017 shall be eligible to apply for admission to the BFA Course.
      3. The intake capacity in the first year class is 61.
      4. The admissions shall be made on the basis of merit in the entrance test. (Theory; conducted by the University of Allahabad and Practical; Department of Visual Arts) The applicant shall also be required to appear in both practical, & written tests, containing 450 marks.

The questions will be based on Music (Vocal, Sitar, Tabla) of Intermediate level. The duration of the test will be 120 minutes

Conseling and Admission Process

      1. Admission will be made from the Last week of June 2017 by the process of ‘Counseling’. The details of information regarding the counseling will be published in local newspapers, and will also available on the website www.allduniv.ac.in and no inquiries in this regard will be entertained.
      2. The purpose of ‘Counseling is to help provide information regarding the availability of seats in accordance to the merit.
      3. The Counselling and admission will be done separately and simultaneously in University and it’s constituent colleges.
      4. The candidate will be required to present themselves in person for the Counseling and admission/allotment of subjects combination on the date, time and place already announced. If the candidate does not turn upon such date/time along with the required documents, he/she will forfeit his/her claim of admission to the particular course/combination of subject and the candidate next in merit will be accommodated against such set/combination of subjects.

Eligibility Criteria

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:

B.Pharm (Bachelor of Pharmacy)

Candidates who have passed two year PUC examination of Karnataka PUC board or an equivalent examination of any other approved Board or University with not less than 40% marks in any combination comprising PCM or PCB (minimum eligibility should be based on the aggregate of PCM or PCB) or PCMB, PC and Comp.Science, PC and Electronics

B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology)

Candidates should have Pass in PUC/CBSE / ISCE/10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects and a minimum of 45% (for SC/ST 40%) marks aggregate in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the following subjects: Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Computer Science / Electronics and English as a compulsory subject

BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications)

Pass in PUC/CBSE/ISCE/10+2 or equivalent examination. + DSAT Examination

BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration)

Pass in PUC/CBSE/ISCE/10+2 or equivalent examination. + DSAT Examination

B.A, Journalism

Merit in PUC/CBSE/ISCE/10+2 or Equivalent Examination + DSAT Entrance Test

B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce)

Pass in PUC/CBSE/ISCE/10+2 or equivalent examination. + DSAT Examination

B.Sc (Bachelor of Science)

Passed in PUC / CBSE/ ICSE or equivalent examination with Chemistry as one of the compulsory subjects in the qualifying examination with 45% marks in aggregate Students who have not studied Chemistry in the qualifying exam have to undergo a short-term (remedial) course of 2 months duration in Chemistry to qualify for admission to the UG program The course will be conducted two months before the commencement of regular course

PB B.Sc (N)

Pass in Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (DGNM) and should be a registered nurse

a) Pass in B.Sc Nursing (Basic), or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing degree or Post Certificate B.Sc Nursing any recognized university with aggregate marks not less than 50%

b) Minimum of one-year experience after obtaining B.Sc Nursing (Basic), in a hospital or in nursing educational institution or in a community health setting

c) Should be a registered nurse

M.Sc (N)

BPT (Bachelor’s in Physiotherapy)

Pass in PUC/CBSE/ISCE/10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 40% marks aggregate in PCB with English as one of the languages

MPT (Master’s in Physiotherapy)

Pass in B.Sc, (PT) degree of 3½ years duration or BPT degree of 4½ years both full time programs from any recognized university in India or abroad as equivalent with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and have completed 6 months of compulsory rotating internship in physiotherapy colleges

Cutoff

Results

The candidates are required to enter their respective DSAT 2017 Roll Number for checking their result and downloading of their scorecard. The result will furnish the rank secured by the candidates. Based on the result of TSICET and the cutoff screening, eligible candidates would be selected for the next round of selection process. The selected candidates would be enlisted in a merit list and will be called for counselling cum allotment on the basis of appearance in the list.
