Tellakula Jalayya Polisetty Somasundaram College ,Guntur was established in 1971 under the auspices of Vasavi Vidyanidhi Committee as a Composite college offering Intermediate and Degree Courses. Over the years the college has developed itself into a full-fledged institution offering many conventional as well as job-oriented as Postgraduate level. The college has more them 2500 students.130 teachers and 15 members of Non- Teaching staff in its campus. Further the college has a N.C.C. Unit and three N.S.S. Units. Population Education Club and good number of associations wedded to the promotion of extra-curricular activities among students

TJPS College of post -graduate studies was constituted in the year 1997 constituting all the POSTGRADUATE Courses offered in the T.J.P.S.COLLEGE by the VASAVI VIDYANIDHI COMMITTEE. Located in a vast 10acre complex, the college has an excellent infrastructure of buildings exclusively meant for P.G. Studies. The total built up area is around 40,000 SFT with well furnished amenities for faculty & students. The college has created state-of-the-art laboratories and a Computer Center with the latest equipment meeting all the needs of the existing P.G. Courses. The College offers seven high profile P.G. Courses, viz., Master of Commerce(M.Com), Master of Business Management(M.B.A) and Master of Science(Ms.) in physics,Electronics,Micro-Biology and Bio-Chemistry, In addition, two part time evening diploma courses in industrial Relations and Personnel Management and Marketing Management are offered especially catering to the needs of in-service candidates. The College is affiliated to Nagarjuna University, one of the biggest Universities in the country with more than 200 colleges affiliated to it.
