The JIS Foundation is the cherished vision of Sardar Jodh Singh. A self-made industrialist of repute, Sardar Jodh Singh strongly believed that every individual should give something back to the society that has nurtured him. He felt that providing quality educational infrastructure in a developing country like India is a social need.Accordingly, he envisaged an institution that would be a centre of excellence and international repute in techno-commercial education & research and also churn out young professionals who are socially aware and committed.Spurred by such a vision, Sardar Jodh Singh founded the JIS Foundation – a public charitable trust – dedicated to the social cause for providing higher education in country. India has the third largest technical manpower base in the world. There is, however, a compelling need to move up the quality curve in the wake of globalization scenario. The JIS Foundation strives to keep pace with the needs of the changing times and impart the right training to the young generation of the country. The JIS Foundation, under Chairman Sardar Jodh Singh, manages the JIS College of Engineering, Kalyani, West Bengal.

Mission
The College aims to prepare the students meeting the challenges of the growing and changing needs of industry through delivering high quality technical education blended with research and training appropriate to life long learning needs and aspirations of the students in the global setting. The College also aims to give practical insights and build confidence by exposing the students through in-plant training and case studies.

Campus Location
Nestled within an integrated higher education campus with a sprawling infrastructure and excellent educational ambience JIS COLLEGE is located in Kalyani 55 km north of Kolkata. Kalyani is well established on the Indian railway map with the unique feature of 4 rail stations within the town limits. There are both local and long distance buses connecting Kalyani to Kolkata and North Bengal.
