NERIST stands for North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology, and is one of the renounced technical institutes maintained by government of India. In order to get admission in this Institute, one will have to qualify an entrance examination called NERIST Entrance Exam(NEE). The entrance test is conducted for admitting students to various courses of science and technology at the Certificate, Diploma and Degree levels.
The entrance test is divided into three different examinations, that is, NEE-I, NEE-II, and NEE-III. The three examinations are based on the three different courses’ level. NERIST Entrance Examination is conducted at various centers in India’s the North Eastern States.

Eligibility Criteria
For all the examinations (NEE-I/ NEE-II/ NEE-III) with any paper code, applicants who are appearing in the respective qualifying examination and whose results are awaited may also appear in the respective Entrance Examination.
Eligibility for NEE I
Maximum Age Limits as on 31st July, 2020 are 19 years for the students of the general category (GE) (born on or after 1st August, 1999), 22 years for OBC and female applicants (born on or after 1st August, 1996) and 24 years for ST/SC/PD (born on or after 1 st August, 1994).
Academic Qualification : Applicants must have passed Class X / Matriculation / Secondary examination or an equivalent examination with Science and Mathematics. They should have passed in all the subjects including Science and Mathematics separate
Eligibility for NEE II/
Maximum Age Limits as on 31st July, 2020 are 23 years for the students of the general category (GE) (born on or after 1st August, 1995), 26 years for OBC and female applicants (born on or after 1st August, 1992) and 28 years for ST/SC/PD (born on or after 1st August, 1992).
Academic Qualifications for different schemes/modes of NEE-II:
- NEE-II (PCM): Applicants must have passed in 10+2 (PCM)/ Higher Secondary (PCM) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM).
- NEE-II (Vocational): Applicants must have passed 10+2 (Vocational) / ITI / NERIST Certificate in any one of the branches / trades, viz., [Agricultural Engineering] Farm Equipment (FE) / Food Processing (FP); [Civil Engineering] Construction Technology i.e. Draftsmanship / Surveyor (CT); [Electronics and Communications Engineering] Electronics Technology or Electronics Maintenance (ET/EM); [Electrical Engineering] Electrical Technology or Electrical Maintenance (ET/EM); [Mechanical Engineering] Mechanical Craftsmanship (MC) / Automobile Technology (AT) and Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (R&AC) are eligible.
- NEE-II (PCB): Applicants must have passed in 10+2 (PCB)/ Higher Secondary (PCB) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB).
Candidates, who are selected for admission to Technology Stream under NEE-II (PCM) / NEE-II(Vocational), shall have the choice of the branch during counseling out of the six branches / disciplines, viz., AE, CE, CSE, EE, ECE and ME on the basis of their merit and reservation category.
Eligibility for NEE III
Maximum Age Limits as on 31st July, 2020 are 40 years for the students of the general category (GE) (born on or after 1st August, 1978), 43 years for OBC and female applicants (born on or after 1st August, 1975) and 45 years for ST/SC/PD (born on or after 1st August, 1973).\
Academic Qualifications: Applicants must have passed the 3-year Diploma course from any Government recognized polytechnic / institution in the respective or allied discipline/ branch as per the Appendix-III given in this Information Brochure with a minimum of 60% marks considering aggregate marks of all the three years’ together/CGPA of 3.0 on a 5 point scale or NERIST Diploma Module with a minimum of CGPA 3.0. Those applicants who do not possess their qualifications as per the disciplines/branches mentioned in Appendix-III are not eligible for the admission.

How to Apply
Candidates have to apply online only; online submission of the application may be made by accessing the Official website.
General Instructions
Candidates must follow the instructions strictly as given in the official website.
After the successful filling up of the online form, a registration confirmation page will be generated for each candidate bearing a Unique Registration Number, which the candidate will use for downloading/printing of Admit Card, etc.

The Exam Fee may be paid online directly by using Debit/Credit Cards/Net banking
In case of Offline Payment, a Challan Form can be Downloaded from www.neeonline.ac.in and deposit the fee in any branch of Axis Bank; the payment details (deposit journal No) for the Challan form has to be filled up the time of final submission of the online registration form for NEE-2020
Exam Pattern
This indicates the test paper subjects, the number of questions in each test paper and marking scheme. For all the exam of NEE (I, II, and III) the questions are of objective type with multiple-choice answers. Candidates shall have to attempt all the questions in all the sections of the relevant paper. For every wrong answer to a question, 25% (¼th) of the marks carried by that question is deducted. There is no deduction of marks for un-attempted questions.
NEE I
It is conducted in one paper of 150 marks of three hours duration. The NEE I question paper will be consisting of three sections.

Candidates appearing in NEE-I (Paper Code 10) are eligible for admission to Base (Certificate) Module of Technology Stream.
NEE II
The NEE-II is conducted with a single question paper of 150 marks of three hours duration. The examination paper consists of either three or four sections with details given below.

NEE III
There will be a single question paper of 150 marks consisting of four sections of three hours’ duration, including one section of the relevant branch subject according to their qualifying examination.
Candidates, seeking admission in Degree Module of Technology Stream, with academic qualification of Diploma in relevant branch/discipline, shall have to attempt NEE-III. Question paper for NEE-III consists of four sections viz. Section A, Section B, Section C and Section D.

Syllabus
Admit Card / Hall Ticket
The candidate should verify all the information in the admit card. If any issue is found, then get it corrected with the concerned authority.
The candidates are required to carry the admit card to the examination hall. Without it, you will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. It is also very important to document for the further admission processes.
Results
NERIST NEE 2020 results will be declared a few weeks after the exams (NEE-I, II, and III) conclude. Similar to the process of applying and downloading admit cards, it is anticipated that the facility to check result of NEE 2020 shall also be made available online at official website
