1. Men have cleared away forests to make fields for growing crops.

1. They have moved mountains to make room for roads and cities, they have built huge dams across rivers to turn valley into lakes, and have built dykes to push back the sea and create more dry land to live on.
2. When the Aswan Dam was built across the River Nile in Egypt, it was meant to help the farmers by giving them water when they needed.
3. Once everyone cheered at the progress that man made in changing his environment like this, but now many people are worried by the problems that such changes can bring.
4. Unfortunately, people did not realize that much of the nourishing food for plants carried by the river would be trapped by the dam, so the farmer’s crops would suffer.

6. Also, hundreds of kilometers away at the mouth of the river Nile, less fresh water pours into the Mediterranean Sea, thereby making the sea water more salty and decreasing the availability of fish, as a result people who catch fish for their living will suffer drastically.

1. To feel less than someone or something – the definition of inferiority – is natural in childhood when we are surrounded by the incomprehensible and things that other, ‘bigger’ people seem to take in their stride.

1. But if a child is made to feel inadequate in some way, this natural feeling can crystalise into a sense of not being good enough, clever enough, or able enough and years later surface as a sense of inferiority.
2. A wise parent will reassure the child through explanation and ensure that he grows through each new experience.

3. When he went to University, under the direction of mentor Paul Biefeld, Brown began experimenting with capacitors — electronic components that can store and release a charge
4. Born into a wealthy Ohio construction family, he was a lacklustre student who loved to mess with electricity and whatever gadgets he could lay his hands on.
5. During one of his experiments, Brown noticed something odd.
6. He’d strap a capacitor to the end of a lever, turn on the current, and it would jump to one side, like the arm on a metronome.
