Let their present ages be s and a respectively.

    Then we have s + 5 = 2(a-5) --------(1)

            a + 5 = s –5 ----------(2)

    By solved the two educations we get s

    = 35 and a = 25. if x years back Sangeeta was twice as old as Anugeeta, we have 35 – x =2(25-x)

    x = 15

Q #5

Directions: Read the following information to answer the question.

I met Mr. Chandran and his son yesterday. I found that Mr. Chandran’s age was the same as the two digit number obtained by reversing the digits of the age of his son. Also, the units place of the difference between their ages is equal to the sum of the digits of their ages and its ten’s place is same as the unit’s place of Mr. Chandran’s age. What was Mr. Chandran’s son’s age five years ago?

Mr. Chandran’s son’s age

    = (10x2)+5 = 25 years

    ∴ His age five years ago was 25 – 5 = 20 years
